Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Board of the Public Joint Stock Company "Gazprom".
Expressing sincere gratitude for the time spent, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the head of state. At the same time, the interest of the largest energy company of the Russian Federation in mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan was confirmed.
Welcoming the head of the Public Joint Stock Company "Gazprom", President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pointed out that his current visit to our country would help strengthen productive cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and, in general, serve to expand further multifaceted Turkmen-Russian ties. Having underlined that development of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation is one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, the head of state conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of Russia.
During the meeting, the traditionally friendly, good-neighbourly nature of the Turkmen-Russian relations, which have deep historical roots, was marked. Trust-based contacts maintained at the highest level, as well as agreements reached during the high-level talks, serve as a solid basis for dynamic development of cooperation in various areas.
It was stated that at present, thanks to the mutual efforts interstate interaction is enriched with the new content in all areas of cooperation. In this context, an important role is attached to the fuel and energy sphere where the rich experience and sound potential have been obtained. At the same time, it was noted that the Public Joint Stock Company "Gazprom" is a long-term partner of Turkmenistan. Over many years of joint work, an effective model of relationships based on trust and mutual consideration of interests has been developed.
It was underlined that our country, having vast reserves of natural resources, is aimed at progressive development of long-term cooperation with all interested foreign partners. Key vectors here are modernization of oil and gas enterprises, increasing efficiency of mining and processing sectors, diversifying energy exports, and implementation of joint projects.
Developing on the topic, the head of Turkmenistan pointed out that there are good prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation. In this context, approaches to optimal implementation of existing potential of cooperation were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Board of the Public Joint Stock Company "Gazprom" Alexey Miller expressed confidence in successful continuation of productive Turkmen-Russian partnership in the energy sector, built on a mutually beneficial long-term basis and aimed at concrete results.
